How Do I Make Sure My Dog Uses The Bathroom On The Potty Pad?

My dog is completly potty trained and is only about 5 mos. old. The problem I’m running across is he constantly misses the potty pad by a few inches when he pees. I don’t know how to get him to stop missing it. Does anyone have any ideas? He’s an Italian greyhound if that matters. Thanks!

Obviously you should be having your dog go completly outside… but if you pup isn’t fully housetrained and you still have a need for the potty pad, double the size by using two pads overlapping. He has no idea where his wee is landing, so give him more room to aim for.
My suggestion to you is to stop using a potty pad. This tells your dog that is all right to use the bathroom in the house. You’re trying to tell your dog that it is all right to pee in the house as long as he pees on his potty pad. To your dog, though, there isn’t any differences from the potty pad to your kitchen floor or carpet. Start taking him outside. If you live in an apartment where getting outside might be hard, take him out on a porch or terrace so he gets the idea that he was to go outside to relieve himself. That way, you’ll know when he has to go and you’ll be able to direct him to the potty pad.
He is not supposed to go on a pee pad. Those are 4 puppies and training your dog to go outside-where he should be going
Just train him to go outside.
