She's adorable! I'm so glad that you are considering adoption over purchasing a puppy. I cannot speak for all rescues, but most of them do not have prefer over whether or not you already own one of the breed they are adopting out. They look for things like your lifestyle, how often the dog is left alone, your experience with dogs in general (and you have an IG so no issues), they usually require that your other pets are spayed or neutered and they usually like to do a home inspection to ensure the dog is going into good living conditions.
Put in your application for her, you have just as much chance as any other responsible owner and I really hope you get her. She looks like a sweetheart

I dont think it will matter if you dont have another golden. All dogs are different. Some traits in different breeds are the same. But really she is just a dog, with a different personality than the last one. As long as they can see you will care for her and love her, than they you should have no problem getting her. Good luck! And good karma to you for wanting to adopt a purebred instead of buying a puppy. :)(:

Do your research -- show that you know something about Goldens, and dogs in general.
Tell them what you've told us. You've got some things in your favor.
Be ready with references, the name of your vet, etc.
Be ready to talk about how you train.
Make it clear that your IG is socialized and trained, and that you know how to protect your more fragile dog from the friendly advances of a bigger dog, when playing.
Bring the IG with you, if the shelter allows it, to show that you care deeply about the dog you have (which, if they don't get along, may end the whole thing, but that would be a good thing, since you don't want any danger to either dog).
Be honest about how she has caught your heart and why -- if someone comes into a breed rescue, and they only want the dog they saw in a picture because it's pretty, that's bad! But, if they are really intrigued by something about the dog's description and story, that's different.

I do think that they favor people with experience in the breed. I think you should call and talk to them about your concerns. After you have submitted that application, call and talk to someone about the dog you're interested in. Tell them what you just told us, and that you're afraid you'll have less of a chance since you have never owned one.
Good luck!! I think you would be a wonderful home for her and I really hope you get her!

Ah... When I lived at home my family bred goldens and bloodhounds, that golden looks a lot like Tinkerbelle....
I say adopt her.
