Miniature Italian Greyhound?

I have one of the above dogs and i am trying to train it to ‘poop’ outside rather then inside and also i would like to have him urinate outside but the main problem is he will not go poo outside and the only place he does it is on the floor. Is there any potty training tips i can have? he urinates on the pee pad but will not poo. Please help

GOOD LUCK! I have two IGs and I have learned from experience that they are nearly impossible to train. They’ll be great for a few weeks, then have a strange week where they pee on anything not moving. Take them out every hour or so and make it a big deal when they poo until they find a spot they really like. They will start to gravitate there naturally and be comfortable. As a rule, I can’t leave them in any room unsupervised, it’s either hang out with momma or go to the crate.

You need to get rid of the pee pad for one things, dogs become reliable on these and then you cant house train the dog to his thing outside, that is why he wont go outside to poo, why should he, he has not been properly house trained…
get rid of the puppy pads, and walk the dog more, he will begin to go pee and poop outside….but will take getting up and taking him out every time he gets up to wonder around…

Crate him. He’ll poop on your floor but he won’t poop on himself. Do this for at least a week and you will never have this problem again. Especially important with new pets. You’ll miss his company for a week, but dogs need boundaries, just like children.
