My Dogs Wont Stop Peeing In The House?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
i have a 4 yo and a 2 yo greyhound. The 2 yo is a female. She just came off the tracks. we were training her with the crate and she was doing good not making a mess in the house til lately. She has no problem showing us that she can make in the house in front of us. She used to be so good to as letting us know when she needs to go out and now she has turned back to the not so trained dog she was. Its as if we crate train her she pees in the house, and if she doesn’t pee, she is bad in the crate (whining, barking..etc) . My 4 year old will pee on only certain things. even right after i clean it! he has been in many homes before.. I am at my end, and am not sure what to do. ANy suggestions will be well appreciated. Thank you.

Get the book called “How To Housebreak Your Dog in Seven Days.” It worked for me, my friend, and my uncle. so it should work for you. but i kinda forgot who the author was, so good luck.
So you have two dogs that pee in the house. Have they, particularly the 2yo had her urine tested for a urinary tract infection. A UTI is often the reason a previously house trained dog will have accidents inside.
Your 4yo sounds as if he might be marking. You need to go back to the beginning with house training and if he is still entire, have him neutered.
Try getting her back on a schedule rather than waiting for her to let you know when she needs out. Limit her water intake to a few times a day until she learns to hold it until going outside. She may also have a UTI.
As for the crate training, alot of dogs if they are not in a crate on regular basis will “carry on” in the crate. She will do this until she gets use to it. But only put her in there when she needs to be. And don’t use it as punishment. Like only when you leave or go to bed. That way it becomes route for her.
