My Italian Greyhound Will Not Stop Peeing On My Boyfriends Bed! Help Me?

Hi,
I have a three year old italian greyhound. He has always been notoriously resistant to house training despite the efforts of absolutely everyone I know pitching in to help.
Recently I moved into a house with my boyfriend. He has his own room (for sanity’s sake), and we spend almost equal amount of time sleeping in his room and my room. The dog sleeps with us in the room in a doggie bed.
Now, NORMALLY, he’s ok as far as accidents in the house go as long as we keep an eye on him. At night, we make sure he’s peed and bundle him up in his bed and he wont get up until morning when we let him out. When we sleep in my room, he crawls up into the bed in the morning when we wake up and snuggles.
When we sleep in HIS room, however, he crawls up in the bed in the morning and pees all over us. Today he peed while I was holding him and after we punished him he peed again on his futon.
This is, understandably, very stressful. Any insight here? Advice?
Thanks in advance!

haha thats kind of unny. But I’ve heard if you mix vinegar and water together in a water bottle and lightly spray the area he keeps peeing on, he shouldn’t do it again.

leave him outside at night and bring him in the morning and have a scheldule for to go out of the and to come in the house good luck

I agree to have him checked for a UTI. but also maybe he just doesn’t like your boyfriends bed. My pup was mad at us for leaving her alone so long that she peed on our bed. so maybe the dog is just mad about something in that room?

I have to agree with DR your dog is showing Dominance Behavior. Your boyfriend is new he isn’t so he is letting you know that he is #1
Punishment can actually make the problem worse. you are encourage you to seek assistance from your veterinarian regarding: spaying and neutering your pet if he isn’t yet. Another thing which might be a stab in the dark. Have your boyfriend establish he is the boss. I am not sure how he may do this but I am sure there is plenty of information online. I know one is if he makes eye contact with the dog make sure the dog always looks away first. There are many other things as well, but of course don’t allow your boyfriend to pee on your dogs bed ;o)

Maybe he thinks your ditching him for another guy. The dog is jealous of your boy friend. Do you ever sleep in your dogs bed with him, no right. He’s jealous.

Yes. This is no accident – it is a “dominance” statement.
Your dog obviously views you as his master, but if there is going to be a third party involved, your dog is making sure that he is sent the message that if anybody is going to be the bottom rung of the social ladder – then it isn’t going to be *him* (the dog!).
This is *classic* dog language .. he is putting your boyfriend in his place. Dogs are the most “legalistic” creatures on earth.
He hasn’t accepted your boyfriend, and if the behaviour goes on unchecked .. you will soon find that even your intimate moments are interrupted by aggression and jealousy.
You need to take advice from a dog trainer, who can help you adjust the dog’s atttitude.
It is not a bodily-function problem!

does he like your boyfriend…maybe he is making a statement….you may want to restrict his areas of the house so this wont contunie to happen he shouldnt have free reign to do what he wants anyway

Maybe the dog thinks it’s weird that you and your boyfriend live together but have your own rooms. He’s trying to tell you that you should share a room?
