Should I Get A Italian Greyhound And Will My Toy Poodle Be To Much For It ?

I have been wanting to get another dog for the longest time. And i have always loved the poodle and IG(italian greyhound) I reseached the poodle majorly before i got my dog. Since i want a IG i have been researching them and they sound like they are very fragile, is that true. And my toy poodle is a fiesty when he plays. Some dogs even bigger than him dont like him because he doesnt understand that he has to stop. But i was thinking my dog loves to be chased and italian greyhounds love to chase. So wouldnt that work out? Also the italian greyhound could run and escape from my dog and not get as tired as my dog would.
So is getting a IG when i already have a 11lb toy poodle smart?
Do IG make good hypoallergenic dogs? (my definition is they go well with people with allergies)
Are IG very fragile?
Do they like water?
Is it better to get one as a puppy or adult?
Shelter or breeder? (which one will the dog be better behavied and more importantly potty trained)
Anything these really important i should know?

I have had my IG around all size dogs, and he will play and interact with them just fine, they are definitely not as fragile as they appear, especially as adults. An 11 lb poodle should be no problem for an IG to handle.
IG’s are not hypoallergenic and they do shed. They have very fine small hairs, and if you have allergies, plan to vacuum, considering they like to be on their owners at all times. They are cuddlers, lap dogs, and if they are not allowed on your lap, they are not happy.
Most IG’s hate water. There are a few exceptions, but they are not water dogs in general.
Puppy or adult doesn’t matter, choose what suits your lifestyle. IG’s are notoriously difficult to housetrain. They are stubborn and have a “what’s in it for me attitude”, so if they can get away with pooping in the house, they will. I’d plan on at least 8-12 months for housetraining.
Shelter or breeder again does not matter. There are lots of homeless IGs mostly due to the fact that they are needy, attention seekers, and they are difficult to housetrain. Pick what suits you.
Be prepared to brush their teeth daily, as they are prone to periodontal disease, and be prepared for a dog that will DEMAND your attention.

If you want a dog to play with yours, there might be better choices.
If you get an adult dog from a shelter or rescue group, it will probably be easier to judge the temperament, and whether it will get along with your dog. Rescue dogs usually are already neutered, have all their shots, and may be housebroken.
IG’s are tougher than they look and I think one could hold its own with your toy poodle. They are hyper little things and yes fragile but they don’t break so easy. They would probably be good for people with allergies because they have very short hair. A friend of mine has several and I love the breed.

You may want to see if Yahoo has an IG group. There you can talk directly to all the IG owners you can think of.
IG’s do love to chase, but they are very fast. They are still raced in lure coursing. Unless your Poodle is superfast, the IG will lap the Poodle a couple of times before the Poodle knows what is happening. You may want to look into lure coursing as a sport to keep your IG active and satisfied.
I don’t think I would use the word fragile with IG but I would say they like comfort. They like soft, cushy, warm things and having a comfortable environment. I have seen them play with other IG’s and then they get picked up and carried back by their owners. They are lap dogs.
Start looking at http://www.petfinder.org and put in IG’s in the breed search criteria. You will come up with rescue groups with either purebreds or mixes. I think I would start there.
