First Time Dog Owner…ckcs, Papillions, Or Igs?

I am a soon to be first time dog owner (have had family dogs in past but none of my own) and have narrowed down my breed preferences to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Papillions, and Italian Greyhounds. Any advice or personal experience with these breeds that could help me decide would be appreciated.
Here are the specifics to my situation:
* Live in townhouse with plenty of yard
* Exercise need is not an issue
* Have never trained a dog before

My First Greyhound Dog?

To be honest, at first I thought this breed was not my time of dog. Then I started looking at rescues near me and there is a greyhound recuse practically next door. I started to do my research and I now know that I was so wrong before. I am in LOVE with this breed.
Now, I am looking in advance. I wont be moving into my apartment that allows dogs for about five months. Painfully long to wait, I know. But I was hoping you would like to give me some advice on Greyhounds.
Anything from diet, training, what to buy to prepare, and apartment living especially.
Keeping in mind this is not my first dog just my first grey. And I do have a fenced in yard available to me so the dog would be able to run unleashed about once a week (more or less).
I have read all the websites and even got a book that “is a greyhound adopters bible” as the back said. I just really want to know what the books wont tell me that perhaps you yourself have learned.

I’ve Just Adopted My First Greyhound. Anyone Have Success Training Them To Take The Stairs For The First Time?

my new dog is a female from the track. she is lovely, is getting
along well with my two high maintenance small dogs. i am
concerned about her learning to use our stairs to the back
yard. she is scared of them so i have to walk her around the
house to put her in the yard. my other dogs go up and down
the stairs.any ideas for a successful training situation?
