I Have A Question! 10 Points!?

So we have been looking at a Golden Retriever since it was at animal control, now a Golden Retriever rescue has him thankfully. I don’t know if we are going to get her yet. But, I was wondering at Golden rescues, if you have a disadvantage if you don’t own a Golden? On most of the adoption stories, most of the families have other Goldens as well. My family only has an Italian Greyhound. I just hope they don’t favor people with Goldens more, because I really want her, and know we would provide her with probably a better home than most. When we go out of town we board our dog at a cage-free place, where they aren’t stuck in kennels all day. My mom stays home, so someone will be there all day, while I’m at school. And we spoil our dog like crazy, but my dog is well behaved and we train him and no dog would be an outside dog.
I just thought because it is a Golden rescue, the rescue would consider someone who had experience with Goldens and would propably choose them more than we would, if we chose to put an application in.http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/display…
Here she is, isn’t she cute? It’s not like I want any Golden, I just really want her! Something just clicked when we saw her, and her story is really sad. :(

Crate Training Question….?

I have 3 dogs…. And I have crate trained them all. 2 of them are fine with the crate, my third doesn’t mind being in the crate, but he poops & pees in it, and then lays in it. It is really gross!! At night, he is fine, but it is while I am at work that he defacates all over the crate and hangs out in it. I usually leave him in his crate for a max of about 5 hours, so he should be able to hold it. He is potty trained and rarely ever has an accident in the house, but the minute you put him in the crate, he pees. When I go to wash his blanket, I find there is a bunch of poop in it.
I have been told to get him a smaller crate, which I have done twice, it didn’t help.
I have been told to remove the blanket, but I can’t because he shivers. (He is an italian greyhound)
Someone help!

Gross Dog Question…………?

….. Got a greyhound, who doesn’t lift his leg when he wee’s, and always ends up weeing on his front legs, which means everytime I take him out I end up having to wash his legs. Can dogs be trained to lift their leg or is it something they do or not. He’s 5. Never had this problem with dogs before, he’s incredibly lazy and docile…I think he just cant be bothered.

A Question For Racing Greyhound Trainers!?

Can you feeed a racing dog on raw food or can their high energy needs only be met by those specialy made diets for racing dogs? (just pondering this as I hope to train my own greyhounds someday =D)
