I am trying to train my dog to roll over and play dead, but she won’t follow the treat. It’s not a matter of if she likes the treat or not, she likes them. She just wont follow it! What do i do?!
Italian Greyhound Training Problems…?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I have 2 Italian Greyhounds who are puppy pad trained to use the bathroom in a certain area of the house. I only had to show my older dog (6 months) the area once or twice and she is fine with the process, but my younger one (4 months old) is really having a tough time with the concept. Any hints for housetraining using puppy pads?
Training My Dog, Can’t Get Them To.?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
So i’ve just started training my dogs. [Two beagles, one greyhound] I just kinda thought of a “routine” for my dogs. The beagles had the same, greyhounds was different.
I’m trying to get my beagles to;; sit pretty, sit , lie down.
they got it all covered except laying down. Whats a way i can get them to lay down? I just can’t get them to.
& The greyhound, she can’t just sit, she just lays down on her belly, then she lays down on her side, and goes into a roll over.
Greyhounds;; belly lay, side lay, roll over.
She does it fine.
Whats some other tricks i can teach them?
& How can i get my beagles to lay down?
I do use treats for praising.
Thanks
Need Dog Training Help?

my puppy is part greyhound but mostly alaskan husky.
she was bred to race but we rescued her from being put down when she was 4 weeks old ( her femur broke so the owners were going to put her down)
and well we hav had her since then so she bites a lot she has already ripped the skin on one of my fingers.
and i want to know ho to stop this aggression in her i need way to train er im very desperate!
she is a very intelligent dog and people say intelligent dogs are harder to train (though i would think it would be easier)
but can anyone help??
i have no idea how to train her my other dog sequoia isa completely different breed and very calm so she was easy to train but this one is very hard.
what i want to train her to do:
not beg
not steal stuff off of the table.
to not jump onto kitchen chairs (yes she does that)
to not dig.( she is working her way into the neighbors yard)
to not eat our garden.
how to stay.
MOST IMPORTANLY NOT TO BITE!
i dont want anyone reporting her and having her put down
i love this puppy so much and dont want anything to happen to her.
she was born may 27th of this year.
just so you get an idea of how old she is
(no saying that we shouldnt have taken her at 4 weeks! i have had a lot of people yell at us for that. just so you know if we didnt take her at 4 weeks she would be dead right now. only because she broke her femur and would never be able to race)
btw her leg is all healed now
Any Help With Dog Training?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Me and someone I know are going to try and train his lurcher/greyhound cross and although I do know some basic things from my own dogs, I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on how to make the process easier? We’re not sure how old the dog is because it’s a rescue, although it certainly isn’t a pup. I was looking for roughly how long it would take for basic commands like sit and come here, where an ideal place would be, and if we would need any other equipment other than the lead, dog and packet of biscuits for rewards. Unless the biscuits are a bad idea?
Thanks a lot
Training My Italian Greyhound Puppy ?

she is about 4 months old and she will not listen to me at all. if i tell her to stop eating scraps, she just looks at me and keeps eating. the only way i can stop her is to physically walk over to her and pick her up so she will stop. even then she sometimes wont drop it, she might just swallow it down quickly. so i was wondering how i could get her to listen to me before its too late. thanks!
